cohealth is a not-for-profit organisation that provides vital local health and support services including medical, dental, allied health, mental health, counselling, and many specialist health services across Melbourne’s CBD and northern and western suburbs.
People who use health services often face significant health disadvantages, have ongoing and complex needs, and are frequently at risk of falling through gaps in health services and funding systems. Health responds to people’s needs by delivering a wide range of low-cost, high-quality, accessible health care and support services.
Green Cross buses are used to improve access to health and support services, particularly in areas of significant disadvantage i.e. caravan parks, social housing and areas with poor public transport, across cohealth service locations as highlighted on the map below.

In addition to the areas covered by cohealth, as of January 2020, a new Green Cross Outreach Bus is being used by Monash Health. Services provided by Monash Health focus on individuals with health disadvantages or at risk of falling through gaps in health services. Monash Health provides a wide range of low-cost, high-quality healthcare services, covering much of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs; see the map below for Monash Health region.

In 2024, GCPI officially expanded its services into rural and regional Victoria when it launched its next vehicle, GCOB-4, at VACCHO’s head office. VACCHO will target its efforts on eye diagnostic services and early cancer detection activities. In addition, this project helps to make GCPI a genuine Victorian project as it extends its activities beyond metropolitan Melbourne.
VACCHO has 32 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations supporting over 65,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. VACCHO leads and supports Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and well-being outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria.
